As a graduate from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Enigineering, Dante started his career as a Nuclear Engineer. He has over 18 years in Engineering Management, Project Management and Facility Operations background in Shopping Center and Hotel operations. Throughout his career, Dante has been a prominent advocate for energy and water conservation projects and products. As Managing Member of EMCC, LLC, his focus is to help lead Hawaii into a sustainable place, reduce its dependency on fossil fuel and ultimately preserve our precious environment and natural resources.
In 1992, Dante implemented the first non-chemical condenser water treatment system on the island which helped to reduce millions of gallons each year of chemically treated water being introduced into the environment. He earned the “Energy Efficiency Award” for commercial properties from Hawaiian Electric Company in 1999, 2002, 2004 and 2006 for implementing energy efficiency projects and programs. These projects received over $750,000 in rebates from HECO. Throughout his career with the hotel properties, it is estimated that the energy savings due to projects he implemented have totaled approximately $15M.
